Mark Twain writes a wonderful novel called The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn. It tells the story of Huck. A boy who has intelligence, is thoughtful and is willing to reach his own conclusions. And Jim, a runaway enslave. They are both on the Mississippi River Valley, and they have a goal of freedom. But on their quest to achieve it, they face many obstacles. Twain describes with strong words the current reality and the struggles of certain people in the book. Many people think the novel ought to be censored.

Huck Finn should be taught at schools. The debate has raged on for years. Mark twain ranks among the most popular writers in America. The book shows dark moments in American history as seen by a young boy. Mark Twain does a great job of capturing the American slave era. While children enjoy the humorous adventures of Huck and Jim, his friend, a slave who ran away, they also learn about friendship, culture, language, and morals. Mark Twain’s “The Adventures Huckleberry Finn,” a book that is a favorite of many children, has been banned from schools for its use excessive slurs.

Huckfin should not even be taught in high-school classes, say some. Some teachers have difficulty teaching it because it offends people of black ethnicity. Parents also dislike it. Certains people do not believe it should taught. They say it is important to learn the lessons of history, which we cannot ignore or hide. Anyone who has never experienced discrimination cannot understand what it is like. Huck Fin is not offensive to African Americans. Huck Fin is racist to many and teaches them a great deal about history. African Americans find the use of “n” in the book offensive.

HuckFinn is something that should be studied. The book uses the racial phrase “the n word” which is offensive and hurtful to many people today. Back then, the term “n-word” was used to describe black people. Twain used the term because he was aware of its meaning. He could not have predicted that the term would become a derogatory one in the future. The book still has important lessons for everyone to learn.

The book should also be taught to students because we can see the friendship between Huck and Jim, the slave who ran away. Huck struggles with this decision throughout the book. Huck starts to realize that Jim has feelings, too, and is just as human as Huck. Huck is shown to be a more humane person when he sees Jim’s tears about his family. Huck Finn does not simply tell an adventure story. The book encourages readers to explore deeper meanings.
